We will have a member and family only fishing  and cookout at The Harbin Lake on Morton's Bend Rd. near Coosa, GA. The cost of the event will need to be offset by donations (suggested to be $10 per person).

Bring a chair for each person in your group. The meal will consist of pork butt BBQ, slaw, Aunt Gert's beans, and soft drinks that will be furnished. Anyone wanting to bring a side dish or a desert will make it a more special meal. Please contact Robert Bold (706-936-3604) to reduce the number of duplications. Bring your own adult beverages and designated driver.

Also bring your own hand launchable watercraft and trolling motor or paddles. There is no trailered boat launch at the lake. A gas operated motor may not be capable of getting into the shallow areas. This is a catch and release lake, The lake has a lot of Bass and large brim. Walking around the lake and fly fishing can be quite a lot of fun. Spinners, shallow running crank/hard lures and surface crank lures work well also. Live baits are not very welcome to the owners due to the possibility of the fish swallowing the hooks with injury. No fishing license is required in this private lake.

                               Directions:

   From Rome follow Shorter Ave. (Hwy 20) west.  Pass The Hammond Plant and turn left on Foster's Mill Rd. (Hwy 100). Cross over the Coosa River and turn right on Morton Bend Rd.    Travel about 1.25 miles and look for the TU sign attached to a gate on the right. Pull in and follow the gravel drive to the cottage on the lake.             Approximate Coordinates:
